For three years, from 1991 through 1994, a colony of bees entered a crack in the outside wall and made their home in the old heating vent underneath my bedroom, part of which is seen above on the previous page. After finally growing tired of having bees infesting the house and being a general nuisance, we used insect foggers to gas them to death. My father put a camera into the vent and snapped a photo, which you see here today.
